Man United 4-0 Wigan
Image hosting by Photobucket
Haha... so in the end, Wigan was rubbish and Moneybag NoMore Disunited took the Worthless Cup...

LIVERPOOL 1 - 0 Man City
Image hosting by Photobucket
So Nando didn't score... Once again, we had another 1-0 victory. Benitez wasn't please, and I do share his sentiments. Another "Birmingham" was threatening to ruin my Sunday night as Liverpool kept wasting genuine opportunities in front of goal. Strangely, City played better without Barton... the others don't like him is it?? Hmm... maybe that's the real reason why Barton handed a transfer request during the January window transfer period! I thought we missed Carra, as our offside trap was almost non-existence! But given more appearances, Agger will prove to be a top dog! Nando, Nando... hope you will score a goal soon!

It was a sad day on Saturday for Singapore when the person who penned our Singapore Pledge was laid to rest. A State Funeral was held at the Esplanade and I was there pay my last respect to him. It's sad to know that I only knew about him being the one who wrote our Singapore Pledge only after he died. Such is life, that we take things for granted when the person is alive. As I was attending Mass on Saturday, tears filled my eyes as I pondered on Mr S Rajaratnam's love for his wife. He has been living alone for almost 16 years without his wife and we always think that when a person died, he can join his spouse in heaven or in the other world. But it's not true, for I was taught that when we finally reached heaven, we actually won't know who is the person next to us, even if that person has been our closest during our lifetime. My heart sank as I pondered on this and suddenly, that sudden urge to cherish the time spent with my love ones.
Life doesn't happen twice, cherish it. I'm fortunate to have known you all, my family, Cindy and all my friends out there. Let's keep this life going till the end of our time.

Some pictures I took when I was at Esplanade during the late S Rajaratnam's State Funeral

This was the vehicle that took Mr Rajaratnam's cortege from Parliament House to Esplanade. They used a black cloth to cover it after Mr Rajaratnam's coffin was brought into Esplanade.

You may wonder why I didn't take the picture of his casket when it went passed me. I was saying my prayers for him.
I hope what I was taught is wrong and you can be reunited with your wife in heaven.
Bye Sir, Rest in Peace.

Paul Jewell and his men will rejoice this weekend!

Here are the other predictions for the weekend...

Birmingham 1-1 Sunderland X
(Result : Birmingham 1-0 Sunderland)

Blackburn 1-2 Arsenal X
Just feel that Arsenal has got that self belief back after the midweek victory in Madrid, especially in defence.
(Result : Blackburn 1-0 Arsenal)

Charlton 2-0 Aston Villa X
Infact this game can go either way, but just fancy Charlton, with the 2 Bents getting on the score sheet. Hates to see Baros scoring for Villa...
(Result : Charlton 0-0 Aston Villa)

Chelsea 4-0 Portsmouth X
Terrible time to face the skunts from Chelsea after that lost to Barca. Sorry Pompey, Chelsea gonna vent all that midweek frustrations on you!
(Result : Chelsea 2-0 Portsmouth)

Newcastle 1-1 Everton X
(Result : Newcastle 2-0 Everton)

Liverpool 2-0 Man City X
(Result : Liverpool 1-0 Man City)
Morientes is finally going to end his goal drought and putting the Benfica's game behind him by getting the goals!
Image hosting by Photobucket

Bolton 1-1 Fulham X
(Result : Bolton 2-1 Fulham)

WBA 2-2 Middlesbrough X
(Result : WBA 0-2 Middlesbrough)
Both teams are so inconsistent this season that I really don't know what the result will be, alright 2-2 will be it.

I know my bro Alvin will be feeling sore when you see these pics I took at the National Stadium. Really feel sorry for you as you have to work till 10pm and miss the game. I was asked by a middle-aged lady to sit with the lions fan club. So there I am, shouting the "war-cries" and banging these "metal sound producing tube shaped balloon".... It was a night to remember as we threw all the form books away and produce a shocking result. Was a pity only 10,000 people were there to witness this match.

I was there as early as 645pm to witness the players warming up and the referees inspecting the pitch.

Oh yes, the Singapore flag and the match starting finally.

As the Asian Cup Qualifiers kick-off today, I feel I need to voice out once again the lack of suport for our own football team. We can support all the clubs in the world but what kind of football supporters are we if we don't support our own football league and our own national football team! We may not play exciting football like the European clubs, but let's not shun our own teams and be there for them when they are fighting to put Singapore football on the world map. Let's not say things-"Stop dreaming, we won't reach the World Cup.", "S-League? So boring, all kelongs one lah!". We laugh when we dare to dream. What will foreigners think about us?? We are a football crazy country, we wear the big European clubs jersey with so much pride, but when it comes to local football, we think it is uncool and don't given give a blink. I totally agree with Darren Lai's view in the Today newspaper today. He mentioned, "Singaporeans are notorious for choosing and picking matches to follow, and are known to show support only when their team are winnning, like against Indonesia." If we haven't beaten Indonesia in the first leg in Jarkarta, you think there will be 55,000 screaming fans, saying "We love Singapore!" at the National Stadium? The media here, besides TODAY, are still not doing their bit to support our own national team. I remembered recently when our national team played Denmark, CNA only showed glimpse of the match and didn't even show the goals that were scored during the game! And worst still, when our national team go for Asian Cup's overseas preparations' stint, one newspaper only managed to squeeze out a little space that tell their readers about Singapore drawing 2-2 with Kuwait. No goalscorers were even mentioned in the report!

Sigh... I seriously hope the media coverage and the overall support from our own citizens will just get better for local football. Starting from today, where we will playing against Iraq on our own turf...

This is Farmers Market, but don't expect to see farmers here. It's just a place where there are shopping, food and even a Singapore Banana Leaf stall!

Image hosting by Photobucket
Actually this place looks a bit like our wet market, minus the smell lah...and I'll always remember bananas ever since that fateful day!

Hmm...tastes good!

Some Turkish food we had, the black thing that you see is actually quite spicy.

It's Friday night...
Haven't post any predictions for a long time. It's Friday night and basically I have nothing much to do besides playing Pro Evolution 5 and surfing the net. And oh ya, the TV is showing the African Nations Cup Final between Egypt and Ivory Coast. I really wish Drogba can break his leg in this game. The sight of Chelsea's players is getting on my nerves these days. Just now on ESPN, it was reported that John Terry feels that his Chelsea is not being given credit for their performance in the EPL but given all the wrong attention by the media. I say, ShiT him lah! Isn't it true he bloody got away with so many handball incidents that occured in the penalty box? Isn't it true that Essien's few tackles deserved red cards? Didn't Robben fell dramatically during the game against Liverpool? The way Chelsea players are developing since Mourinho came are totally disgusting! I don't think I'm gonna celebrate if any Chelsea players scored for England during the coming World Cup! Alright, here are my predictions for the weekend games...

Wigan 0-1 Liverpool
Wigan is facing a striker crisis while Liverpool is facing a goalscoring crisis. Wanted to go for 0-0, but as usual, I'm biased towards my team.

Arsenal 3-2 Bolton
Arsenal has almost no fit defenders for this game but I guess Henry and Pires can still produce the goods for the Gunners as they will desperately want to take revenge on their bogey team.

Aston Villa 3-0 Newcastle
Luke Moore is in devastating form and I fancy him getting a hattrick again.
Everton 0-0 Blackburn
2 tough teams which I feel the most of the game will be played in the middle of the park.

Middlesbrough 0-2 Chelsea
Damn! As much as I would want Chelsea to lose, I seriously don't see it happening against poor Boro.

Portsmouth 1-3 Man United
Portsmouth has beaten The Red Devils at Fratton Park in the last 2 seasons but with so many new acquisitions during the Jan transfer window, I don't think Pompey has gel together as a unit yet. Man United should win this comfortably.

Fulham 1-0 WBA
Sunderland 2-2 Tottenham
Man City 1-1 Charlton
West Ham 2-0 Birmingham

I was standing in the middle of the road while taking this picture. All the people in our tour group actually took turns to stand in the middle of the road when there was no traffic. It was quite fun, as if the whole road was always!

We then headed on to Two Rodeo Drive, which house many branded boutiques. Many Hollywood stars do their shopping here.

We had a 2 day ticket to Disneyland, but opted to visit the world famous San Diego Zoo on the 2nd day. Didn't take too many photos there though. Saw so many different types of deer there and finally managed to see Panda in real life! Couldn't take photo of the panda though, cos' they were such protected species that we were even not allowed to talk loudly at the panda enclosure!
