Socially Responsible ok?

I remembered always telling this friend of mine who is scared to take MC when she's sick... "Hey, M, spare a thought for your colleagues. When you are sick (esp. FLU!) and you still go to work, you may spread your germs to them. In the end, if you really think that you are just being a responsible worker to your company, then you are surely not being responsible to the people who works around you and also the pupils whom you teach lor... Can you imagine one by one, people around fall sick because of your germs?" Well, M does see some sense to this and has been heeding my advice... kekeke...

For the past 2 days, I have noticed this colleague of mine who is having a really bad flu and still come to work. His voice has changed to a "sexy" tone because of this! Then today, another colleague actually told him "Hey, if you are sick, you better see a doctor... " She then proceed to jokingly tell him "Well, actually i mean-if you are sick, STAY AT HOME, Don't pass the germs to me!!!" Haha... what she said was definitley what's on the mind too! And you know something, for the past 2 days and especially today, I'm having a running nose and feeling a bit feverish... Is this caused by my colleague???
Hope I don't fall sick man... i still have the weekend to enjoy and the last week of school before the Sep holiday arrives!

Today's P5 lesson I actually don't have enough time to complete Compo, so i let them bring it home to do. Usually, I don't because once they bring home, their tuition teacher or parents will teach them how to write a good compo and this doesn't test their ability. But i really have no choice, this is the first compo that I have given them since July! Gotta rush, some my P5s please don't talk so much in class and let me complete teaching you the syllabus on time!

Art Class for 501 was as usual enjoyable. I only need to tell them once and they could follow my instructions well to do paper cutting designing today. I got 2 samples for them, one's a pig, the other's a turtle. Some followed the samples and came out with very nice work. Must take photos of them and show all of you one day.

Was in school till 640pm and Fendi sms me to ask if i was in school. I thought he wanted to come and see me! haha... But i sms him late and i don't have cookie...sobs...

Weekend is here! Enjoy!

The night I sent a S-League footballer home!

Yes! I actually did this tonight! You will think "Chey, big deal meh?" Oh yes, it's a BIG DEAL to ME! haha... Ok, this footballer is Gabriel Obatola and he plays for Gombak United. He is currently Gombak's top goal scorer. I was at a S-League match (Gombak v Balestier) at Toa Payoh Stadium tonight. After the match, I saw standing outside and approached to say HI to him. I asked if he still remember me because last year he actually approached me to help him take videos of him playing in matches. And to my surprise, he actually remember me! He was injured(he pulled his hamstring) in the game tonight and can hardly walk without pain. I wished him a speedy recovery and may God Bless him.(he's a Catholic too!)

So I thought I should get my car and drive back to where he is and if he is around, maybe I should offer him a ride home. When i returned, he was still there and yes, he accepted my offer, moreover, i will passby his destination while i'm on my way home. When i finally reached his place, i realised that this is where my uncle and cousins stay too! What a small world! I bid goodbye to him and wish he can play in the next game! Too bad I didn't take any picture with him! Haha..

This is the video which I made... you can see how he looks here.

Back to the match... Gombak finally ended their winless streak by beating Balestier 3-1! But this game was stopped twice because there was lightning risk. You see, about 2years ago, a S-League player was actually striked by lightning while training on the pitch. From then on, S-League has been very strict with matches being played while there are lightnings. When Gabriel Obatola was injured in the 30min, I thought Gombak can't win. Then on 32min, the match was stopped. I thought all these were bad omen for the team I support but oh well, everything turned well in the 2nd half! I hope this will be the beginning of more wins for Gombak!

For all of you who are interested to know what happened in school for me today, please read on...those not interested, well, you can leave now! hahaha...

Today was so angry with my P5 class. From Monday, I have been giving about 5 words for them to write for Xi Zi each day and today I was going to give them the last few words. When they were writing, I saw so many of them actually only started to write today! Fed up! I screamed at so many of them and in the end, I still have 3 pupils who didn't finish writing by the time lesson ended. I made them go outside of the staff room and scolded them. One of them (should call her IN) started crying when I told her i'm going to make her stay back until 330pm to finish her work. Out of the sudden, she dashed into the STAFF toilet! She made me wait for her outside the toilet until I got 2 female pupils to help me go into the toilet to ask her to come out! (See, one of the disadvantage of male teachers dealing with emotional girls!)

After that, I brought her to her Supp. class and told her form teacher why she was late for Supp. class. Her teacher was soooo...fierce! I never expected my colleague to really scold her until she cried and cried! She wanted IN to write 5 lines of each words which I gave and if she don't finish it by today, she has to write 5 pages! Wow, pupils' nightmare! I don't think I'll ever be so mean to punish a pupil... Sigh ya, I think that's what make me not fierce enough! So when she finished her Supp. , she came to my P2 class to do her Xi Zi. I seriously think I should be a MEAN TEACHER from this moment on! Hehehe....

A Day after my Birthday

My day started brightly with class 401 Art class. I must say I really love teaching them Art. They are very interested in what I teach and they really response well to anything which I taught. I must also admit that Ms Cindy Lee being their Eng teacher also helped. As some of you may know, she is such a caring and gentle teacher. So you can imagine the kind of pupil whom she taught. So my conclusion is...I realised when you teach a well behaved class, you become a happy, polite, inspiring, non-shouting teacher. I was so happy after I stepped out of class 401 and I definitely can't wait to show them more things which I want to teach next week.

My day didn't end on a bright note though. I became a WWE entertainer in my P5 EM3 class. I taught them the same thing as P4. But I have stopped for so long to wait for everyone to keep quiet. One boy was bullied verbally by a few boys and I made him sit near to him. During the class, I have to pull and stop so many boys from getting into confrontations. Worst still, some of them stole my mechanical pencil while I was drawing for them. I was so fed up that I told everyone to sit down and I refused to draw anymore. I really don't understand how this can happen. Was fuming and yet some of them were still making a fool of themselves. When it was coming to end of the lesson, I let some welll behaved pupils leave the class first and made some stay back. I let the boy who was bullied to leave first. Suddenly, this boy(W) just walk in front of me, out of the class, I shouted at him to stop but he kept chasing after that boy who was bullied. I couldn't leave the class as I have to stop more boys from leaving the class. But just awhile later, W came back to class. I was boiling, I grabbed him and shouted at him! He must be shocked by my action but seriously, he shouldnt be! Sigh... in the end, I still have to mellow down and ask him to explain his action, and counsel him... Hope he truly listen and learn!

After school, life was better. I went to watch 881 with a friend. It was a show about Getai. But seriously, this should be called a Hokkien Musical! The actresses were singing all songs in Hokkien throughout the show! Some parts were quite "Kua Zhang"(Ridiculous!) and 2 groups of girls who were fighting with each other on who should sing during the Getai actually have super power coming out of them. Like Street Fighters! But in fact, this show is quite sad, because Papaya Sisters(Little Papaya & Elder Papaya) was made to separate when Little Papaya died from cancer. And from then on, she could only be reunited with her sister at Getai as a spirit. Overall, I felt if you want to know more about Getai during this Chinese 7 Month, it is worth watching. But if you have more meaningful thing to do this month, just wait for the VCD/DVD to come out!

Birthday with my Family

Birthday with your family is always special. I know a lot of young people nowadays love to celebrate with their friends. Yes I do admit it is definitely fun having your friends around but still, family is our closest, and remember on our birthday, the person whom we shall honour most is...our Mother! I remembered telling my friends that the most important person during our birthday is actually our mother, who took almost 9mths of pain and hardship to bear us into this world. So if you are not spending enough birthdays with your mother, start from your next birthday!

On my birthday, I went to work which is so so sian i tell you! I remember last time when i was in NS, i have Birthday Off on my birthday, which was so cool! I seriously think companies in Singapore should give their workers Birthday Off! Anyone interested to stage a peaceful protest??? Haha... The only thing which i was looking forward to was the dinner planned at Mellben Seafood Restaurant(ok, it's not your air-con restaurant but like a cze-char stall that you can find in coffeeshop!). This is one heck of a place i tell you. Singaporeans are so crazy over this place for their crabs! Long queues are formed especially on weekends and even if you have made a reservation, you still have to queue up to wait for your table. Oh well, back to the dinner. Me and my family reached there at almost 9pm, so we didn't have to wait long! By half an hour, our food were all here even though the waitress told us we have to wait btw 45mins-1hour! These are the food we ordered.

These food surely cost less than eating at a air-con restaurant. The final bill was around $160. Well, the crabs were more expensive but they were huge and if you eat this at air-con rest. it will cost you a bomb!

Thanks Ma for bringing me to this lovely family!

You know something, I have been looking at this design through the City Chain shop's showcase and was telling Cindy that this watch looks chio... and my sis actually got this watch for me. It was really pure co-incidence! Don't think Cindy ever tell her anything about this watch...

Thanks for the card and the watch Yip Family!

Oh before I end my entry, I must thank everyone of you who sms me today... De & Jie, Thomas, Alvin, Wati, Ah Bao, Min, Cindy, Charlene, Wee Swan, Dion. I really appreciate you all for remembering my birthday.

A simple sms = a million thoughts!

31 today!!!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Yes, i am officially 31 years old today. Think time really flies and no matter how you try to treasure time, it just flew passed me. Things have come and go for me during this 1 year. I have been to more places, learnt more new things, gained more friends, lost some, realised more about the dark sides of humanity, gathered more knowledge to face the world ahead of me. Some bad habits die hard. But from today onwards, have to kick them out of my system. Good habits take years to nurture, and i intend to nurture them from now. Whatever things that have flew passed me, are just memories, be it sad or happy, life has to go on. Life do not wait for no one. Life is God's treasure for us, better cherish it!

Alright so much for my thoughts... Getting old, also getting lor-soh!!! ...back to reality! Today FTM celebrated my birthday at Party World KTV. We got a shock when it was still closed when we arrived at 2pm! It was not till 215pm that the staffs arrived and the KTV was declared opened! Ridiculous ah! I got my friend's watch to proof they only opened at 215pm! Haha...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

So before they opened, we chit chatted outside the KTV and they presented me this super big birthday card! This is definitely the biggest one that i have received for my entire life man!

There was so much space for them to write their greetings in the card and i really enjoyed all that they have wrote and drew in it. All of you are really great artists esp. BT, M and AB!!! I'm really touched by the efforts that all of you have put into the card.

Cindy got me a super unique one too! It's a card with Kylie Minoque's face and voice! So cool! Surely one of the best card you have given me all these years! Haha...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

We sang so much songs and it was really enjoyable because some of the FTM members who seldom sing in KTV actually made the effort to sing! Haha... It was great fun. And everyone striked their best pose when the waiter took pictures of FTM.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I requested for a Bengawan Solo coffee cake and it was so nice! Haha... no need $80 over cakes for me! hehe...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

FTM gave me the Liverpool away jersey which I thought was the best white coloured ones so far!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

And for the first time, I have all 3 Liverpool FC jerseys for this season! Something which has never happen to me before! Haha... you must think i'm crazy!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Once again FTM, thanks for the lovely card, gorgeous jersey and priceless FRIENDSHIP that you have shared with me all these years. Jersey $100, Card $20, FRIENDSHIP = PRICELESS! Hahaha...

Fireworks at Esplanade

Singaporeans really like anything free, anything loud and anywhere crowded...Yes, I'm talking about them flocking to watch the fireworks at the Singapore River. If it was not because of my friend's invitation, I don't think I will join the crowd to watch. The 5 of us went to One Fullerton early for our dinner at Palm Beach Restaurant, which looks like a expensive place. We ordered baby squids, creamy crab, chilli crab, wafer chicken, spicy kang kong and fried yam basket. And it costs us $40 each! I don't think it was worth the money. The baby squids tasted normal, the creamy crab was the creme of the crop!, chilli crab sucks big time, not enough egg and spiciness in the gravy!, wafer chicken was unique, wrapped in omelette skins just like peking duck, spicy kang kong was too bland, not spicy at all, fried yam basket was alright.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketPhoto Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

We started our meal at 615pm and from where we were seated, the view of the fireworks later should have been the perfect place. But no, the seats which we were sitting are already reserved from 830pm onwards. That means we have to leave by 830pm... Sigh...

So after our meal, we found a place to sit down with the crowd, which was already gathering since 6pm, can you believe it! And the fireworks only starts at 9.15pm! Singaporeans are really a "Woo Eng" lot! Me and my friends came up with the conclusion that since there are not much entertainment in Singapore (watch movies, sing karaoke, eat, shopping, what else can we do??) and fireworks show is free, that's why so many came to watch.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
See the crowd in front of us. They must have been sitting in this position for the past 2 and a half hours!

For all of you who didn't make your way to watch the fireworks, here are some better pictures I took from One Fullerton (in front of the Starbuck)

My 1st Present!

I got my first present from Didi on the Friday night! It's a Renoma wallet...although a bit disappointed that it's not a GUCCI WALLET, but i felt i will be overprotective over the expensive Gucci wallet that whenever i use it, i will feel uneasy too. I LOVE the compartments in this wallet and the color too! U know I have seldom like black leather, so the chocolate color simply suit my taste!!! Hey, I'm ready to receive more presents, are you ready to give them to me??? Hehehe....

Landed on Hong Kong Disneyland

Yes! I'm at Hong Kong Disneyland! My 2nd Disneyland conquers of the world! Fyi, I intend to cover all the Disneylands on Earth! Haha... ambitious huh? Oh well, you must believe that tag "It's the Happiest Place on Earth" and realize its so true! Once you have been to one, you will want to always go back again because it's such a HAPPY PLACE!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Was at Disneyland from 5pm-10pm. Kind of late when I reached there and it was raining! But i simply can't be bothered with it as long as the typhoon signal was lifted and i could step out of the hotel!!! Even though i was wet, I still took many photos there and hence, I put my camera at risk!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
My entrance ticket! Donald Duck! which is one of my favourite character, because...err... some part of Donald looks like me lah! haha...

Do we look alike? And who's cuter? Haha...

The great night ended with some splendid fireworks display!

The rest of the Saturday happened like this......

Sat - Morning - Went to meet up with Cindy's friend's Meiyan and her husband for Dim Sum at One Peking. This place houses many great restaurants, both economical and high-end ones. They brought us to this posh looking one but not that expensive. The interior decors were very Chinese and fits the food that they are selling, mostly Teochew food and of course, DIM SUMS. For those who don't know, I love to eat Dim Sum!

Afternoon - Went for some shopping at Tsim Sha Tsui. This is a great shopping place because I found my 3 storeys adidas shop!!!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Of course, I won't miss the chance of taking a pic of myself with the store! There were so many to buy in the store, especially Liverpool clothings, that I have to selectively choose or else I will go bankrupt! Haha...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

This is the Liverpool European away jersey which I bought! And if scroll down, you will know that this is one of the item that is on my wishlist!!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

After the shopping, I made my way to the sea! Haha.. this is one place all tourists must go to look at the beautiful sea and skyscrapers scenaries! It was beginning to drizzle when I made my way there.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I also found out something new along the sea - Avenue of Stars. This place was only erected recently and it features the history of Hong Kong Movies Industry. There were specially made tiles along the floor of Avenue of Stars. Some even had the hand prints of the stars!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
This is Andy Lau's hand print! I took with almost all the stars, around 30 of them. But I don't think i can upload so many here! You will be sick of my face by then!!! Haha...

The story of a typhoon signal in Hong Kong...

Arrived in Hong Kong on National Day and was greeted by the news that a typhoon was brewing nearby. Not the best of starts for the Hong Kong trip. When I reached the hotel, I realised there was a typhoon signal no.1... alright, for you info, there are 3 signals- no.1, no.2 and no. 8...don't ask me why there's no 3, 4, etc... cos' i'm also bewildered! When it reached no.8, everyone has to stay at home, school will closed, shops will be shut down! So my Thursday went well, except for the rain that kept falling while i was shopping in Mongkok. This is a must-go place, cos' there're alot of streets stalls that sell lots of cartoon characters' merchandise and faked branded bags! As the stalls were in the open, I was not spared the raindrops! So i got this cute umbrella for shelter! haha...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

And this was me after the rain had stopped and i was on my home back to the hotel.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
The billboard you see is Ajisen. They have so many Ajisen over there! I am not a fan of Ajisen though, but the billboard was attractive enough for me to pose with it!

But before it rained, i actually enjoyed shopping at this place called Langham Place. And the most exciting thing i saw was this...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketPhoto Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
And i bought 2 Liverpool tops from the Adidas shop there! Adidas products are around 10% cheaper there! So shiok!

So that was my first day in Hong Kong. So far so good... typhoon was quite obedient, didn't dare come near Hong Kong! Haha...

But at 230pm Friday....I was in a shop and i overheard the salesgirl speaking to her colleague in Cantonese..."there's news that the typhoon signal no. 8 will be hoisted at 3pm!" I'm like 8 N...

True enough, i started seeing shops being closed around me. And people were looking anxious. As I made my way to the entrance, I saw a signboard informing the public that the typhoon signal no. 8 has been hoisted! Oh dear oh dear! You must have guess I started to panic and made my way quickly back to the hotel right? The answer is...NO! I ended up here......Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Surprisingly, this restaurant called "Zen" was still operating, so were some others restaurants and cafes! Maybe they are afraid i'll be hungry! Cos' if there's a typhoon, i may never be able to go out and i'll starved in the hotel! So there i am, in a restaurant, enjoying my lunch, ignoring the rush to go back to the hotel! And see what I had...

Yummy!!!
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Suckling Pig! It was a big serving and costs around $24!

On the right are chicken wings u might think, but nope! It's roasted pigeon!!! Haha...don't really like the smell of it though...
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Mushrooms! More healthy! And lots of ginko nuts in it!

After a hearty meal, time to set off...and when i reached the MTR(not typo error, they call it MTR in Hong Kong!) station, this was what greeted me...
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Was in the crowd for awhile, then decided...no way am i going to join them. The crowd's not moving and even if i reached the gantry, can I enter the trains? So i took a U-turn and went back to the shopping mall and walk awhile.

Finally at 502pm, I was happily on the train and on my way back to the hotel.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
There was less crowd in the MTR station, guess most people have already reached home except me!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
This signboard was installed in the hotel lobby. So no more shopping and sight-seeing for me as I was trapped in total boredom in the fantastically small hotel room! But at midnight, I watched the news and was informed that the signal 8 has been lowered to signal 1...Phew! Finally, I have high hope that I can go Disneyland the next day!
