Arrived in Hong Kong on National Day and was greeted by the news that a typhoon was brewing nearby. Not the best of starts for the Hong Kong trip. When I reached the hotel, I realised there was a typhoon signal no.1... alright, for you info, there are 3 signals- no.1, no.2 and no. 8...don't ask me why there's no 3, 4, etc... cos' i'm also bewildered! When it reached no.8, everyone has to stay at home, school will closed, shops will be shut down! So my Thursday went well, except for the rain that kept falling while i was shopping in Mongkok. This is a must-go place, cos' there're alot of streets stalls that sell lots of cartoon characters' merchandise and faked branded bags! As the stalls were in the open, I was not spared the raindrops! So i got this cute umbrella for shelter! haha...

And this was me after the rain had stopped and i was on my home back to the hotel.

The billboard you see is Ajisen. They have so many Ajisen over there! I am not a fan of Ajisen though, but the billboard was attractive enough for me to pose with it!
But before it rained, i actually enjoyed shopping at this place called Langham Place. And the most exciting thing i saw was this...

And i bought 2 Liverpool tops from the Adidas shop there! Adidas products are around 10% cheaper there! So shiok!
So that was my first day in Hong Kong. So far so good... typhoon was quite obedient, didn't dare come near Hong Kong! Haha...
But at 230pm Friday....I was in a shop and i overheard the salesgirl speaking to her colleague in Cantonese..."there's news that the typhoon signal no. 8 will be hoisted at 3pm!" I'm like 8 N...
True enough, i started seeing shops being closed around me. And people were looking anxious. As I made my way to the entrance, I saw a signboard informing the public that the typhoon signal no. 8 has been hoisted! Oh dear oh dear! You must have guess I started to panic and made my way quickly back to the hotel right? The answer is...NO! I ended up here......

Surprisingly, this restaurant called "Zen" was still operating, so were some others restaurants and cafes! Maybe they are afraid i'll be hungry! Cos' if there's a typhoon, i may never be able to go out and i'll starved in the hotel! So there i am, in a restaurant, enjoying my lunch, ignoring the rush to go back to the hotel! And see what I had...
Yummy!!!

Suckling Pig! It was a big serving and costs around $24!
On the right are chicken wings u might think, but nope! It's roasted pigeon!!! Haha...don't really like the smell of it though...

Mushrooms! More healthy! And lots of ginko nuts in it!
After a hearty meal, time to set off...and when i reached the MTR(not typo error, they call it MTR in Hong Kong!) station, this was what greeted me...

Was in the crowd for awhile, then decided...no way am i going to join them. The crowd's not moving and even if i reached the gantry, can I enter the trains? So i took a U-turn and went back to the shopping mall and walk awhile.
Finally at 502pm, I was happily on the train and on my way back to the hotel.

There was less crowd in the MTR station, guess most people have already reached home except me!

This signboard was installed in the hotel lobby. So no more shopping and sight-seeing for me as I was trapped in total boredom in the fantastically small hotel room! But at midnight, I watched the news and was informed that the signal 8 has been lowered to signal 1...Phew! Finally, I have high hope that I can go Disneyland the next day!
