Olympic Spirit
Did you watch the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games? Well I did and I was impressed by it! One of the most memorable scene must be when last torch bearer Li Ning brought the flame up into the air and towards the cauldron. It is totally out of the blue and the location of the cauldron came as a surprise to all.

I remembered watching Athens Olympic 4 years ago where a archer fired his arrow to ignite the cauldron. I thought that was really imaginative but this year, China made it even better. Kudos to the Chinese for coming up with this bold idea.
To represent your country must be the greatest wish for a sportsman. I guess to even become backroom staffs of the sportspersons, someone working in the media, or anyone working for the Olympic will be a once in a lifetime experience. The whole of Beijing must be buzzing with life. This makes me think of the Youth Olympic which will be held in Singapore in 2010. If time permits, I certainly don't mind helping out in it.
So far, I have watched some football, diving, swimming and basketball events. I must say it is quite exciting for anyone who love sports to be able to see so many different kinds of sports being played out in Beijing. Swimming has always been very exciting. Today I just saw how the France 4X100m relay team lose out to USA by a mere 0.08secs!! This is just so close to call when deciding the champion and 2nd place. I think the most boring event to me is boxing. I don't understand how they decide who is the winner and I can figure out how the boxers look like because of the head gear that they are wearing. So what is your favourite event(s) in the Olympic?
